The Physics
When 90°F humid summer air enters a 65°F crawl space, the moisture condenses on every cool surface — joists, ductwork, plumbing. That water doesn't dry.
What Gets Damaged
Subfloor, joists, ductwork, insulation, stored items. Mold follows. Eventually structural repairs follow that.
The Fix
Seal the vents, encapsulate with a vapor barrier, insulate the walls with closed cell foam, and add a dehumidifier. Problem solved permanently.
