Why It Happens
Steel has zero R-value. In Chattanooga's humid climate, the dew point is reached almost daily, especially in spring and fall.
The Only Real Fix
Closed cell spray foam applied directly to the underside of the metal roof seals the cold surface and stops condensation cold. Batt insulation does not solve this problem.
